PLUSH (MERINO DK)

100% superwash merino
225m per 100g (45m per 20g mini skein).

Made with 100% superwash merino wool, Plush DK yarn is not only incredibly soft and snuggly but also easy to care for. And because it's a real workhorse of a yarn, you can count on it to hold its own against regular wear. Luxe and practical - what’s not to love?

In super-popular DK weight (double-knit, sometimes known as 8-ply), it's ideal for a wide range of projects, from cosy jumpers (or sweaters if you’re across the pond) to soft and cuddly blankets; baby garments; hats; mittens. The works!

This is the base I recommend to folks who are new to the world of hand-dyed yarn, because it works up fairly quickly compared to a sock weight yarn and it’s so easy to care for.

HAPPY FEET (MERINO SOCK)

100% superwash merino - high twist
365m per 100g (73m per 20g mini skein)

This is a soft, airy, lightweight yarn with hidden strength. If you’re looking for a luxe yet sturdy sock yarn that's 100% natural and biodegradable, then Happy Feet Sock is the one for you.

Made from high quality, superwash-treated merino wool, this yarn has been spun with a tight twist to create a surprisingly durable yarn that's excellent for garment making. It’s even suitable for high-wear items like socks - but you may choose to opt for patterns which are designed to add sturdiness to the heels and sole (unless you really love darning). And because it's made with 100% merino wool, it's incredibly soft and luxurious to the touch, making it a joy - both to craft with, and to wear.

Unlike traditional sock yarns that contain nylon for added durability, this high twist merino sock yarn is designed to stand up to the wear and tear of regular use without any synthetic fibres. This makes it a great choice for those with sensitive skin or who prefer natural fibres; and also for anyone looking to lower the environmental impact of their crafting. The production of nylon uses a high amount of energy and water, making it less than ideal for the eco-conscious crafter.

WEEKEND SOCK (MERINO SINGLES)

100% superwash merino - single ply
365m per 100g

A luxurious, noodly, single ply, sock weight yarn. The Weekend range is named for the type of cosy, chilled out projects I like to make with these cushy single ply yarns.

While the name may suggest it's suitable for socks, it actually refers to the weight (thickness) of the yarn rather than its intended use. Slightly more delicate than Happy Feet; this base is more suited to shawls, hats, baby cardigans and so on. Although it’s superwash-treated and won’t felt easily; single ply yarn (aka singles yarn) can shed fibres if subjected to a lot of friction, which could potentially threaten the integrity of your makes. I love it so much, though - and I know you'll find it worth the extra effort too.

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting out, Weekend Sock Yarn is sure to become a beloved staple in your yarn stash.

WEEKEND DK (MERINO SINGLES)

100% superwash merino - single ply
225m per 100g

A luxurious, udon-noodly, single ply, sock weight yarn. The Weekend range is named for the type of cosy, chilled out projects I like to make with these cushy single ply yarns.

Somewhat more delicate than Plush DK; this base is more suited to shawls, hats, baby cardigans and so on. Although it’s superwash-treated and won’t felt easily; single ply yarn (aka singles yarn) can shed fibres if subjected to a lot of friction, which could potentially threaten the integrity of your makes. I love it so much, though - and I know you'll find it worth the extra effort too.

Weekend DK yarn is deliciously light and lofty - any day of the week.

ALL THE GOOD FEELS (BABY ALPACA CHUNKY)

100% Baby Alpaca
100m per 100g

The absolute softest and loftiest yarn in the Indie Yarn Club repertoire; a dream for quickly whipping up some winter accessories like mittens, scarves, balaclavas and hats.

Baby alpaca yarn is hypoallergenic, lightweight, and silky to the touch. Its softness and warmth make it a popular choice for items worn close to the skin. The fuzzy halo also gives a lovely texture to knitting or crochet stitches, making it a great option for projects that require a bit of texture or surface interest.

The term "baby alpaca" does not refer to the fibre being sourced from baby animals. Rather, it comes from the first shearing of the adult alpaca, which produces the softest and finest fibres. The term "baby" is used to describe the fineness of the fibre, rather than the age of the animal. This is because the fibre is significantly finer and more delicate than standard alpaca wool, and is often considered one of the most luxurious fibres in the world of yarn.

It's important to note that this yarn is not superwash, which means it requires special care to maintain its quality. Hand washing is recommended; in cool water with a gentle detergent and laying flat to dry. Avoid using hot water or a washing machine, which can cause felting and damage the fuzzy halo that makes this yarn so special. By taking these steps, you can ensure your finished items will be long-lasting and beautiful.
